Five years for one bridge

Five years for one bridge

The Thurra River bridge will not be rebuilt until at least 2025.
A bombshell document has revealed timelines for a number of ongoing bushfire recovery projects in the area including the Cape Conran cabins, East Cape boardwalk, and the Thurra River bridge.
The document, published in November last year, was recently viewed by the Snowy River Mail.
The document reads, “DELWP have confirmed a new completion date of 2025 for Thurra Bridge.”
This will mean the Thurra River bridge would be rebuilt five years after it burnt down, or around 1155 days.
The slow rebuild of the Thurra River bridge has also left Point Hicks without a link to the mainland.
