Orbost digs deep

Orbost digs deep

The Orbost area dug deep this year for the Good Friday Appeal, raising an incredible amount of funds to go towards helping sick kids.
“We raised a total of $18,481.40 for the  entire Orbost, Marlo and  Newmerella area,” organiser, Judy Farley, said.
“It was incredible - that is the highest amount we  have ever raised, and  it was just such a  fantastic day and we were so lucky that the weather held out for us for most of the day.
“The Easter Egg raffle alone raised $1068, which is phenomenal from sitting outside FoodWorks over two days.
“We are so thankful to all of the people who donated.”
The impresive total smashed last year’s final tally of $14,459.
This year’s state total also broke records, with $23,061,320 raised to go towards the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Regional and rural Victoria raised a remarkable $2955,656.
