Orbost Show gets a boost

Newly elected president of the Orbost Agricultural Society, Jason Griebenow, recently received $5000 from a successful submission to the Community Bushfire Recovery Small grant round ran by the East Gippsland Community Foundation.
"The grant will help to enable us to give free entry again to the Orbost Show in 2023 for the third year running and is greatly appreciated," Mr Griebenow said.
At the recent annual general meeting, Jason took over the reins from Orbost Agricultural Society stalwart, Paul Lavell, who had been the chair for 27 years.
Paul did stay on the committee as the vice president and will offer his wisdom and knowledge.
"I've been a member of the Orbost Agricultural Society for 30 years – I joined back when I didn't even have a licence and Katrina Florance would pick me up," Mr Lavell said.
