Re-certified

Mallacoota Airport looks set to regain its certification status within weeks following intervention by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
CASA has been working with the East Gippsland Shire Council in a bid to "re-introduce instrument flight procedures at Mallacoota Airport".
In a joint statement, CASA and the shire said: "Meetings over the past two weeks have established a clear plan to transition the airport to certification and to reintroduce the Terminal Instrument Flight Procedures".
Last week, CASA staff were in Mallacoota to undertake a validation flight, which was completed.
"Subject to documentation being submitted to CASA within agreed timeframes, we plan to reintroduce the instrument procedures on October 6 by returning the airport to certified status," the joint statement said.
