Regional Victoria came out of COVID lockdown at midnight on Monday with the Orbost community welcoming the State Government’s decision to ease restrictions.
With no positive cases nor exposure sights within 350 kilometres, Orbost and the rest of East Gippsland is pleased to be open again, albeit in a reduced capacity. Metropolitan Melbourne remains in a hard lockdown.
Limitations remain on the number of people allowed in certain venues and settings, however for the most part all businesses are able to operate.
“It’s great news for our community and will allow businesses to open and most people to get back to work,” Orbost Chamber of Commerce secretary, Garry Squires. Said.
“At last some common sense in focussing the lockdowns where the problems are.”
