Loving the new school room

Cann River P-12 College principal, Bruce Spink, staff and students are thrilled with the recent additions to the school.

The college has a wonderful new permanent modular building that students in prep, grade one and two and students studying VCE and VCAL subjects have been able to enjoy since they returned to face-to-face learning on May 26, the remainder of the college’s students returning on Tuesday.

“It was a great process to see in action,” Bruce said.

“At the centre of the work was Anna Cornell, the site manager, who liaised and coordinated everything. The building was set down in one day.

“But then there was a total of 31 people working on the site over the course of two weeks - carpenters, welders, plasters, concreters, electricians, painters, giant crane drivers, many she’d never met. Anna managed it all so smoothly.”

As the Cann River P-12 College building project unfolded, Anna’s four children were being home schooled in Pakenham.

“She returned home one night for her four-year-old’s birthday,” Bruce said.

Anna’s company, Grove, is developing a new building at Orbost Secondary College where she is once again be site manager.
