Crime fighting hilarity

Orbost Secondary College presented three performances of its production, Squad Room, last week at the St James Hall.

Audiences were treated to an entertaining night when they met a squad of loony detectives who handled everything from burglary to fraud.

Commander Rainwater (played by Henry Hammond) was in the running to become mayor so was leaning on Lieutenant Moot- fowl (Lokan Woerz) to clean up crime in City Park where ‘only a moving bullet is safe’. If Mootfowl didn’t succeed he’ d be turning in his badge.

The cast included assorted police personnel, street people, con artists, a psychiatrist, crime victims, crooks, lawyers and a woman with a guilty complex who’d confess to any crime.

Then there was the Mad Bomber who planted a bomb in a file cabinet and the hatcheck girl from the Pink Poodle Disco who has matrimony on her mind.

All was sorted by the final curtain in hilarious style producing plenty of laughs from the audience.
